The coldest season of the year. And in my opinion, the snuggliest season of the year. There's nothing quite like fires, endless cups of tea & warming soups & stews.
I am spending most of this coming winter in Ballarat, a regional city in Victoria which is known for it's particularly cold winters (especially on Aussie standards). So far I have really been enjoying the distinct seasonal changes here and I am anticipating the crossover into winter over the next few weeks.
There's no doubt there's a lot of bugs being passed around at the moment and it's definitely worth adding in some winter wellness rituals to protect and boost our immunity during this season. I have already been exposed twice to a head cold since moving here and if you work in customer service or with people too, it's especially worth taking extra care! Also for many the lack of sunshine and cold rainy days can make one feel low or depressed (known as SAD- seasonal affective disorder); if you're vulnerable to SAD then it's very important to also care of your mental health during this cold season.
